45s.com -- Search for Songs by Year - 1968
In 1968, Elvis revived his career with a TV special. The Beatles started their own record label, Apple. It was also the year that the first group that I ever saw perform live had their biggest hit -- John Fred & His Playboy band with Judy In Disguise With Glasses. In my opinion, this was the worst song that John Fred ever recorded; John Fred did a great job recording soul music, but none of those recordings ever hit the charts!
The top songs in 1968 were:
Hey Jude -- The Beatles
I Heard It Through The Grapevine -- Marvin Gaye
Love Is Blue -- Paul Mauriat
Love Child -- Diana Ross & The Supremes
Honey -- Bobby Goldsboro
(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay -- Otis Redding
People Got To Be Free -- The Rascals
This Guy's In Love With You -- Herb Alpert
Judy In Disguise With Glasses -- John Fred & His Playboy Band
Woman, Woman -- Gary Puckett & The Union GapClick here to see all songs that hit the charts in 1968.
