45s.com -- Songwriter: Jackson Browne
Jackson Browne began concentrating on songwriting in the mid 60's. His songs were recorded by many, including Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Rivers, and The Byrds. He began recording as a solo artist in 1972, and he had 17 charted hit songs as a solo performer between 1972 and 1986. His last hit record happens to be one of my favorites, "In The Shape Of A Heart," though his biggest solo hits were "Somebody's Baby" and "Doctor My Eyes." He collaborated with Glenn Frey on the first charted hit of the Eagles, "Take It Easy."
Jackson Browne was born on October 9, 1948 on a U.S. Army base in Heidelberg, Germany. He moved to LA in 1951. At 19 years of age, he began working as a guitarist / pianist / composer / singer with Tim Buckley and Nico. He is an activist against nuclear power.
